Can I do the program online?

No, all of our courses are classroom-based due to the nature of the coursework.


Can I do the program part-time?

Yes, we have a curriculum plan that is tailored to meet the needs of part-time students.


Is this program feasible for a person who works full-time?

Yes, our schedule of courses accommodates people who work full-time, however, you may need a flexible work schedule if interested in certain internship sites.


Can I start the program in the spring or summer semesters?

We accept new students for the spring semester but not the summer semester.


How are internships sites determined?

The program provides a list of approved sites. Students may apply to any approved site that fits with their interests.

Students may also petition to have a new training site approved provided that both the site and the internship duties relate to forensic psychology.

Does GW have housing options for graduates?

GW graduate housing options can be found here. Many of our students choose to live in Alexandria or in surrounding areas such as Arlington or DC. We also connect incoming students to help them find roommates.


How accessible is the Alexandria Graduate Education Center?

We are a short walk from the King Street metro station which services the blue and yellow metro lines, as well as the Metrobus and Dash buses. Please note that our building has a parking garage, and there is also metered street parking around the building.


How many people are accepted into the program?

We accept approximately 50 people for fall incoming classes, and 25 for spring incoming classes.


What is the average class size?

There is a maximum of 25 students in each course.


What will strengthen my application?

We tend to favor applications with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and a verbal GRE score in the 50th percentile or higher. We also look for a strong statement of purpose and recommendation letter.


Is an interview required for admission into the program?

Yes. We review applications on a rolling basis, and ask strong applicants to come in for an in-person interview before we make an admission decision.
